The KIA Sportage GT-Line is a compact SUV that has been designed to appeal to drivers who want a stylish and well-equipped vehicle that can handle a range of driving conditions. To say that this vehicle comes with a range of advanced features that are designed to improve performance, comfort, and safety would be an understatement of note – and we will get into as much detail as possible.

This model has seen a design improvement from the predecessor model in that it is very difficult to not take note of on the road from the base variant right up the top spec, the GT-Line S, pictured here.

The exterior of the KIA Sportage GT-Line is sleek and modern, with a distinctive front grille and LED headlights with the “boomerang” like design that provide excellent visibility in low light conditions. The vehicle also comes with a panoramic sunroof, which adds to the overall sense of spaciousness and openness in the cabin. The car rides on 19” alloy wheels and appears to be slightly wider than the previous model and as such commands a fair share of presence on the road.

The “boomerang” like headlights do standout and they make the car distinguishable on the road – a notable upgrade from the predecessor.

Inside, the KIA Sportage GT-Line features a comfortable and spacious cabin with plenty of room for both driver and passengers. The seats are covered in leather upholstery, which adds to the premium feel of the interior. The vehicle also comes with a range of advanced features, including an 8-inch touchscreen display, a premium sound system, and a range of advanced driver assistance systems.

One of the standout features of the KIA Sportage GT-Line is its advanced safety technology. The vehicle comes with a range of driver assistance features, including forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring. These features work together to provide a high level of protection for both the driver and passengers.

Under the hood, the KIA Sportage GT-Line is powered by a 1.6 CRDi petrol powered engine that produces 132kW @ 265Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, which provides smooth and responsive shifting – at an impressive clean way at that. The petrol model is also fuel efficient and a single tank can really make those long trips worth it in the end. We averaged 7.8L/100KM in a 400KM drive from Johannesburg to Bloemfontein and that was with the adaptive cruise-control and lane-keep assist taking control of most of the trip. – not taking anything away from the engine and transmission which came alive on the climbs when needed(because there are alot of trucks on the N1).

Overall, the KIA Sportage GT-Line is an impressive compact SUV that offers a range of advanced features and excellent performance. With its stylish design, comfortable interior, and advanced safety technology, this vehicle is sure to appeal to a wide range of drivers. On the plus side, it is a very fun drive to have and it truly “comes alive” when you let it out in the open road.

P.S The diesel variant is coming to the South African streets and we are definitely awaiting that arrival.
